Do I Need to Send Documents to My Tax Professional?

1 min read

If you’re using Tax Pro Review to file your taxes, your tax pro will need copies of all documents showing your federal withholdings. This includes Forms W-2 and 1099, and any other relevant documents. Digital copies are required for e-filing, but sending them to your tax pro also ensures that accurate information is being used.

How to Send Documents to Your Tax Professional

There are a couple of ways to electronically send your tax documents to your tax professional. You can:

  • Upload the PDFs or Word documents.
  • Take pictures of the documents and upload them.

If you don’t have all of your documents available at the start of your tax prep, you can also send them later via the Message Center.

If you can’t get electronic copies or take pictures, you can also fax or mail the documents to your tax professional. Check with your tax pro for more information.

Acceptable File Formats for Your Tax Documents

You probably have your tax documents in Word or PDF format. However, we accept a wide range of document types.

You can upload documents in any of these formats:

  • .doc
  • .docx
  • .xls
  • .xlsx
  • .csv
  • .txt
  • .pdf
  • .jpg
  • .jpeg
  • .tiff
  • .png

Each file you upload must be less than 5 MB. We’ll automatically scan attachments for viruses.
