How to Turn Off Adobe Browser Integration

The H&R Block program supports the Adobe Reader program, which you can download and install for free. If you experience any problems when you try to display your return, you might need to make sure you turn off the Adobe browser integration. We can help you with that process.

Getting Your Return to Display as a PDF in Your Browser

To turn off the Adobe browser integration:

  1. Sign out of your return.
  2. Open the Adobe Reader program. (If you’re running Windows, choose Start, then Programs, and then choose Adobe Reader.)
  3. Choose Edit, then Preferences.
  4. Choose If the “Display PDF in Browser” box is checked, uncheck it.
  5. Choose OK.
  6. Close Adobe Reader.

To see if this fixed the issue, return to your H&R Block account and try to view your return again. You’ll be asked whether you would like to Save or Open. Choose Open.

At this point, the Adobe browser should be working, and you should be able to view and print your online return without a problem.

If you need additional H&R Block online support, visit the Help Center to find technical help.
