Where’s my refund – Oregon?

To check the status of your Oregon state refund online, go to the Oregon Department of Revenue – Where’s My Refund? website.

In order to view status information, you will be prompted to enter:

Oregon refund
  • Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), and
  • Filing status, and
  • The exact refund amount shown on:
    • Line 47 of your Form OR-40, or
    • Line 72 of your Form OR-40-N, or
    • Line 71 of your Form OR-40-P

You can also check refund status through Oregon’s automated phone system at 1-503-378-4988 or toll-free at 1-800-356-4222. This same information is required by the automated phone system.

The Oregon Department of Revenue will issue personal income tax refunds in mid-February. Return processing times vary depending on many factors, including complexity of the return and our verification processes.

How the state tax return was filed also impacts the timing of obtaining your Oregon refund. E-filed returns process faster. Paper returns can also take longer as the due date approaches, when the largest number of returns are received.​

What can cause a delay in my Oregon refund?

A number of things could cause a delay to your Oregon state refund, including the following:

  • Math errors in your return or other adjustments.
  • You used more than one form type to complete your return.
  • Your return was missing information or incomplete.
