I have a question regarding babysitter taxes. If I pay a family member to care for my child, can I claim the childcare credit?
Yes, you can claim the credit as long as you can’t claim the relative who is providing the childcare as your dependent.
Also, the babysitter can’t be your child if he or she is younger than age 19. This is true even if you can’t claim that child as a dependent.
